I took my first ever GRE attempt on Sep 1 and scored 318 , I am aiming to score above 325 - 330 so I can apply to top B schools in R2
I could not study from Sep 2 onwards due to some personal upheaval and emergency, now I plan to take the GRE either on Oct 11 or 12 (or earlier around Oct 5 ; it would depend on how many leaves I get from my demanding job of 12 hours/day). That’s tentative based on how much I can improve in the remaining days.
Based on this, what would you recommend I should focus on ? I am happy to discuss in detail what I feel I need to practice or work on in terms of areas - e.g., my RC is good but Sentence Equivalence is where I mess up the most so that means I need to polish my vocab more than reading strategies maybe ; and in quant I believe I need to practice questions more. In any case, I just wanted to check what or how should I proceed in these remaining 13 days that I have - when should I take a couple of mocks etc.
I took a mock before the actual test - 3 weeks before the test and I scored same in mock and in the real test. some guidance would be helpful please on the plan of action.
Should I take one mock every two days to get accustomed to test taking ? Free mocks on Magoosh, Manhattan plus GregMat mocks.
I would:
- hire a Gregmat tutor to help you construct a better plan. Your plan needs a lot of work.
- reschedule your test later in the year
