3 Weeks to 325: Verbal Speed & Quant Pacing Help!

Here’s a breakdown of where I’m at:

Verbal Section:

  • Sentence Equivalence (SE): I find these relatively manageable, but I occasionally get tripped up by word pairs where the synonyms aren’t familiar to me. Since the Vocab Mountain advises against memorizing synonyms, I’m unsure how to tackle this.
  • Text Completion (TC): I typically score around 5/7, but my performance drops when time pressure kicks in. My mind starts racing, and I lose focus, costing me points.
  • Reading Comprehension (RC): This is my biggest pain point. I struggle to read passages quickly enough, often lose track of the main idea, and even when I do grasp it, I second-guess myself under exam pressure. Using the CAR method, I end up overanalyzing and picking wrong answers despite knowing better. Reading speed and confidence are major hurdles here.

Quant Section:

  • I feel solid with the basics and concepts from Quant Mountain, but my pacing is off. Greg mentions having 5 minutes left with 3 questions remaining, but I’m nowhere near that. I tend to solve problems too slowly, even though I could complete all the questions I don’t have time to revise.
  • In every practice section, quiz, or mock test, I encounter at least one “special” question or new concept I haven’t seen before, and I’m clueless on how to approach it.
  • Silly mistakes are also killing my score, even when I skip questions I’m unsure about.

What I’ve Done So Far:

I’ve diligently completed all the practice material in the 2-month program, including Vocab and Quant Mountains, exercises, and quizzes. Right now, I’m wondering if I should:

  • Redo all the quant practice questions, quizzes, and exercises to build speed and accuracy.
  • Focus on Skill Building under Practice.
  • But I’m also worried that repeating the same questions might not help since I’ve already seen them.

My Goal & Request:
I’m aiming for a 325 and have about 3 weeks before my test. Could you please advise me on:

  1. How to address my verbal challenges—especially reading speed, TC consistency, and managing unfamiliar SE synonyms?
  2. How to improve my quant pacing and handle those unexpected “special” questions?
  3. A plan to reduce anxiety and silly mistakes during practice and the actual exam?
  4. Whether I should revisit old material or if there’s new GregMat content you’d recommend for my level?

I’d be incredibly grateful for any tailored suggestions or resources you could point me toward. Thank you so much for your time and support—I’m determined to hit my target with your help!

this is a huge ask, time wise - I would recommend booking a session with a Gregmat tutor to get better help - it’s hard to do justice to all these questions in a forum comment.
