Hey all , I thought D was the answer , coz of the word very carefully , but the answer is B. Any help fellas why is that the case.

Here, although is a conjunction that is used for contrasting ideas. Here, the first idea before the comma says that the minuet is simple. So the next idea after the comma should contrast the word simple. Hence, the best choice would be intricate, which means complicated.
