Big Book RC question about “err in drawing” logic

Source: Big Book Test 8, Section 5

I realised I got Q20 wrong due to a misinterpretation of the phrase “scholars would err in drawing.”

I initially included Statement III (music was a crucial part of African cultural legacy) because the passage says scholars underestimate the significance of music. I took that to mean scholars incorrectly concluded music was not crucial.

On review, the correct distinction seems to be that failing to fully recognise a true point is not the same as drawing an incorrect conclusion. Statement III is true according to the author, scholars simply do not sufficiently appreciate it, so it cannot be something they “err in drawing.”

Statement II, however, would be an actual error because the passage explicitly contrasts African music with other musical traditions.

Please let me know if this is the right way to frame such questions.

It’s asking what would scholars be wrong about, not what they believe. Obviously the author agrees with the third answer choice so he would not think scholars would err in that conclusion
