Big Book Test 13 Section 4 Q 6

I feel like both B and D could be the right answer , since form follows function can mean 2 things: 1. Form is secondary to function 2. Form is determined by function. On what basis do we eliminate D?

Wouldn’t D be better here than B? What’s the evidence for B in your opinion?

Form follows function = Form is secondary to function. Hence “Relegated to”.I’m not saying that B is a better answer. I’m saying both B and D sound equally correct in that form follows function can mean two things here. I saw Greg’s walkthrough for this question and he said “Relegated to” does not make sense. How does it not make sense. Can you elaborate?

Form follows function, which is why form is subordinate to, or determined by human usage. Human usage is not an inferior position (or at least we have no evidence for that) which is why relegated to does not make sense.
