Hi guys, the answer to this question involves calculating the lower end (7+7+7+8)/4 and higher end (7+8+8+8)/4. However, the question doesn’t specify that there needs to be at least one of both machines. Why can’t the lower end be (7+7+7+7)/2 and higher end be (8+8+8+8)/4? Thanks!
I think it does specify in the root of the question, “There are 4… fastest of these… the slowest…”, that the aforementioned fastest and slowest machines are each present in the 4 machines at least once.
Ah, tricky. Thank you for helping to clarify!
