IF 3 people would have left, then the answer would be 19.

But, they haven’t left the line yet. There are still in line. In other words, 3 people are in the line CURRENTLY.

So, the ans should be 22.

This is much more of a reading problem. I also got tricked the first time doing this.

The 'if" in the second sentance means it hasn’t happened. And they are asking for currently, so you cannot calculate for the ‘if’ senario. All the ‘if’ sentance is telling you is that there are 11 people in front of Shandra.
