Coordinate Quadratic Q

I took maybe a bad approach and just put the value of 0 for x and y in both equations to get 3 as the lowest for A and 7 as lowest for B.

Even though I got the correct answer, is that approach totally wrong? And if so, why?

Is the only plausible way to solve the way greg does it in the video?

You got lucky yeah, and that’s not the right way to solve it.

If you like, you can substitute x = -\frac{b}{2a} into each and evaluate it.
