If I take D: {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}
Wouldn’t the 25th percentile = 2.5 and Q1 = 3 so they are not the same in this case?
I am getting a bit confused as ChatGPT also came with the response of Q1 = 2.5 based on the index method, which I am not quite aware of.
Even in the case of D: {1,2,3,…,98,99,100}
25th percentile = 26th value (25% data points lower than this) = 26
Q1 = 25.5
Can you please clarify what I am misunderstanding in this concept?
