Need help in this question, here Greg went like this- He use the time-contrast strategy, wherein he focussed on initially agreed and concluded that as we moved forward in time he was less and less flexible i.e rigid on a settlement. Post which he told that the actual is here acting as now and then he selected option c

But can’t the answer be option e as when we plug it in, it makes sense that the act of initially agreeing and then going back is an act of cowardice

I would say no because “Refusal to compromise” does not indicate cowardice. Yes, the sentence would make sense with answer choice E, but it doesn’t match to the clues the way rigidity does.
