Deliberate practice

Hey guys, so I’m working on a list with strategies that I want to deliberately practice the last days before my test. So what I learned from the videos is that also answering the question ‘can I apply strategy X to this question’ is deliberate practice. So then, how do you guys choose which question type to use for deliberate practice of a strategy?

Example: I want to deliberately practice process of elimination.
Ok, I can use basically any question for this strategy, so check.

Another example: I want to deliberately practice previously referenced.
Can I use any question or piece of text? Also reading questions?

I also see the point in following the videos and doing the excercises which I did for the majority part. However, those excercises are picked to demonstrate a certain strategy. So then I’m never deliberately practicing whether or not I CAN use that strat, right?

Thanks!

For verbal you can just choose any test from the Big Book and give yourself 1:30 per question

aren’t the big book questions much easier than current gre material?

For quant most yes but verbal it is still gold specially for the RC’s . The bigbook don’t have SE and as blanks comes in pairs for TC it is slightly easier than current verbal section but nonetheless I still think of it as a very good resource.

But if you want to check your current level than it is my go to resource for verbal ! As I told earlier do timed test practice of 1 test (1:30 min per question) and see where u at

ok cool, thanks for the tips. although I thought it’s not about timing per question but time management for a set of questions, right?

another thing is that when I do BB questions, there is no explanation of the logic, right? Only right or wrong answers. Would it make more sense to watch videos in which excercises are done so I can check the logic too? Any experience?

Greg did the walkthrough for the whole BBhttps://www.gregmat.com/course/old-gre-walkthroughs

ah yes i forgot about those hehehe thanks!!!

Big Book have 1 short RC 1, Big RC and 1 TC per verbal section and then there are questions which isn’t the part of new GRE (ignore these)thus, gave youu time per question so that you can calculate on your own how much time you should set when starting a BigBook Test!
