It’s generally advisable to give one practice test from ETS as a diagnostic before your actual preparation. But I am a bit scared since my vocab is very weak and also I might end up wasting one free test and I see people end up getting around 300(would it not demotivate me in first hand). What do you say?
I’d say that the main objective for an early diagnostic test is to understand what areas you should be sure to cover in your study plan. In general, don’t put too much stock in your practice test scores - focus on your GRE verbal/quant skills and strategies instead. The scores are just a byproduct.
