Doubt in Big Book I Test 20

Hi! Doubt from the first short passage: (pasted for ref)

Confused in this question:

My answer: I chose (B) as it says artworks show unconcious wishes/desires- and evidence from the passage says phrases like, “…her likes and dislikes…” and “personal response”- and since the critic is relying on these personal preferences, the art in turn depicts personal desires.

The correct answer is (A), and Greg in the explanation video reasons saying (B) is wrong because if says “works of arts” and nothing on art critics, which is the subject of the main idea.
I’m confused because (A) also, as per my understanding, doesn’t talk anything about critics, and about art work at large only.

Can you please guide me here?

I’m not sure we can say that.

This is the evidence:

The critic’s knowledge and training are and training are, rather, a preparation of the cognitive and emotional abilities needed for an adequate personal response to an artwork’s own particular qualities.

cognitive = intellect
emotional = passion

If you need cognitive and emotional abilities to assess/respond to art properly, from this we can infer that art has cognitive and emotional elements.

Aaah! Got it, this is very helpful- understand the evidence here now. Thank you Ganesh!
