Although C is a better option, I think A is not wrong.
Please let me know if option A… The words in A fit too, but C is better

What hint the question provide for outcome or even for foreshadowed ?

If we analyze the question we can see that its a support as we got no contrasting words.
The clue that we are provided is that the person is inflexible (refusal to compromise).
