Doubt on TC

A perennial goal in zoology is to infer function
from ----, relating the ------ of an organism to
its physical form and cellular organization.
(A) age … ancestry
(B) classification . . appearance
(C) size … movement
(D) structure … behavior
(E) location … habitat

Let’s parse this sentence, I hope we agree that the comma (,) separates the question into two parts that should support each other. The first blank as it stands now is impossible to determine, but we understand that the inference or understanding of “function” comes from something, let’s move to the next part. The second blank is related to the physical form and cellular organization of the organism, since this physical form is a new idea, it makes sense that the missing first blank is talking about physical form. The best fit is (D) structure… behavior.
