Exponent Rules II quiz question 5

Which of the following is equivalent to 2^x*2^x*2^x

The solution says 2^x^3 is incorrect, and I see the note made in quant mountain for the section. On the GRE, I can assume that if they mean (2^x)^3, they will write it with that bracketing? No brackets always means like 2^(x^3)?

Thank you!

2^{x^3} \neq 2^x \cdot 2^x \cdot 2^x = \left(2^x\right)^3 = 2^{3x}
