Geometry Foundation Quiz 2

I have queries regarding 3 questions from this quiz.

Question 5:

2 Pi r (r+h) should be 226 and not 126, no?

Question 9:
Why is the answer not B? Could anyone give a counter-example?
To get a rectangle with a perimeter of 50, you have to have relatively large sides like 20 & 5
While to get perimeter 5 the sides must be much lower like 2 and 1
Which means the area should always be greater when the perimeter is 50?

Question 12:
We do not have any information about the lines or the areas. How did we get this? We could completely change the positions of the lines since we have no information about them.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I added the first 2 pics.

In third question you have to use property of circle where 2 inscribed angle standing on same base will be equal. then with that w = z and x = y , now substitute to either quantity answer will be C. Distorting figure will do nothing as inscribed angle in same base will be qual no matter how you distort it.

For other question please provide picture too. So, I can help.

I am not sure what property you are referring to, what is a base? how are these angles inscribed? If you prefer, you could send a link to an explanation of the property instead of explaining it from scratch. Thanks!

I added the other questions’ pics.

For the cylinder question:
Lateral surface area is not the same as total surface area. The formula you mentioned is for the total surface area. Lateral surface area refers to the surface area of the cylinder if it were open. The formula for that is 2πrh. That’s why the answer is 126 and not 226.

For the rectangle question:
Possibilities for Quantity A:

  • If it’s a square, all sides are equal, which means the area is 5/4×5/4=1.5625
  • If it’s a rectangle with a base of 2 and a height of 0.5, the area is 1.

Possibilities for Quantity B:

  • If it’s a rectangle with a base of 20 and a height of 5, the area is 100.
  • It could also be a rectangle with a height of 0.01, making the base 24.99; calculating the area gives 0.2499.

Therefore, its D and not B.
