GRE Geometry Fundamentals Quiz #1 (Question 3)

So, the solution is pretty clear to me but shouldn’t the question specify that this is a regular octagon otherwise how can we assume all 8 angles are equal ? I firstly thought maybe it is just a mistake in the wording but while going through the solution video I see that this was not addressed so can someone tell me its just an omission mistake or is there really some rule working here (excluding regular) that I am not aware of ?

Doesn’t matter. The sum of the angles of every n-sided polygon is 180(n - 2).

okay so if the question asked what is each individual angle then we can’t simply do [(n-2)*180]/n
In the case of finding individual angle this won’t work unless regular is specified right?

Yep, the angles are only equal if its regular but the sum of the angles is always the same for a certain number of sides
