I got D if i choose Numbers. Though when I do algebra to simplify first- I get B. Need help.

I am manipulation Column B. so its= (a+b) (a-b)
Now i can cancel out (a+b) from both side that leaves us too

1 VS (a-b)

from here no matter what number i pick ans is always B.
Am i doing something wrong in the cancelling out step?

Since (a + b) can be positive or negative then dividing both quantities isn’t really “well defined” in terms of inequality preservation. If you split it into cases (when a + b is positive and when it is negative) then sure that can work, but you can side step all of that for this problem anyway.
