Gre Quant section (Arithmetic)

I have completed the arithmetic section today, and I performed well on all the tick box quizzes. I was pleased with my results until I attempted the GRE Quantitative Problem Solving practice questions in gregmat website, where I faced difficulty to even solve a medium hard questions What should I do

Do more problems: knowing about concepts does not immediately translate into doing well on problems.

  1. foundation (Prepswift)
  2. Manhattan 5-lb. quant (drilling foundation)
  3. strategies and deliberate practice of them
  4. ETS questions

So you’re still on step 1 but you’re trying to skip to step 4.

Its nor ETS i meant the practice questions on the GregMat website, would it be premature to begin working on them?

no, those are fine - they’re good to drill the concepts you learned in PS

Could you offer some guidance on where I’m making mistakes and how I can improve? I’m finding the medium-difficulty questions challenging; is this a common experience?

yes, it’s common. It means you still need to master foundation, drill it, learn and drill strategies, and then you’ll do better in practice. 5-lb is better for drilling than is Gregmat - there are more questions and they’re more straightforward.

Hey! So I just finished a quant section on PrepSwift and did pretty well on the tickbox quizzes. I also reviewed the questions I got wrong. But when I moved on to practice problems from the 5lb book, I found myself struggling . Do you think it’s too early for me to start using the 5lb problems? Any tips on how I can improve?

can you slow down and get more right? I see many people try to work too quickly and make many preventable mistakes.

Upon reviewing some incorrectly answered problems, I encountered some unfamiliar concepts not previously covered in PrepSwift. I apologize if my assessment is wrong.

There isn’t a general tip then. Work on each problem until you figure it out, but also don’t be a perfectionist. There are a few 5-lb. questions that are unrealistic.

I completed arithmetic and performed well on the quizzes, achieving around 80% accuracy, so what’s the next steps. Should i proceed directly to algebra, or should i practice using the Manhattan 5lb book or take any quizzes ? What is the recommended procedure after finishing each section? and i have 5 months to prepare
