Hi, i took the test 3 days ago and I got 322. 158 in verbal, 164 in quant. i was consistently getting 168-170 in quant in mocks but i could not manage time during the actual test. i really panicked. i was getting stuck and in verbal also, i couldn’t actively use strategies.
how to go about studying for retaking the exam? what resources to use, how to structure it?
First of all, check out the video attached below.
Secondly, Make sure you practice the quant strategies in isolation(untimed practice).
For untimed practice follow this in steps
- Big Book (out of 30 questions - get around 29 or 30)
- Current ETS Official Material ( keep the practice sets reserved for timed practice)
- Greg Mat Easy/Medium Questions – 12 and 15 sets and then move on to timed practice one you start getting 10 or 11 /12 and 13 or 14 /15.
For timed practice - reduce your time progressively
- Big Book (30 questions, 45 minutes…40 minutes…35 minute and then at last 30 minutes)
- ETS Mixed Quant Sections
- GregMat Full Quant Sections
- GregMat Mini Exams
- Power Prep Quant Sections
hi,
i did watch the video and i am still pretty confused.
can you recommend the way forward to get better at verbal also please? thanks for the quant way forward!
Check out these Course - GregMat
After watching these, you might understand where to push yourself next.
Under this video - The Tick Box Method - Check Your Progress - GregMat - you shall find the list of all strategies for verbal as well as quant that you should master individually. Learn how Greg and other tutors on the platform use them collectively and then integrate the skills in your own way for each type of question (be flexible with them).
NOTE :- Each question type is unique and you should have a strategy on how you would approach it. Also, practice from ETS material only and get your hands on the new Official Guide if you can.
