Hey, as per my understanding, console relates to situations of grief/sadness/a low feeling; so does commiserate. Both relate to offering condolence or support during such low/sad times.
Whereas, mollify seems to relate to bettering/bringing down adverse situations of anger or negative emotions/situations.
Hence console + commiserate should be a better pair. Try looking into some usage examples of these words which may bring more clarity. Hope this helps!
Thank you! I agree with you. After looking example sentences, I’ve found mollify more often is applied in ameliorating adverse situations, while console and commiserate relate to supporting personal feelings.
