Hi everyone! I am honestly so demotivated and dejected with my progress so far. I need advice how to smash the GRE and get 330+ in a week.
I started studying for the GRE back in Nov 2024. I took the GRE twice, with my Dec 2024 take landing at 325. It was honestly the highest score I’ve ever received-- never seen a score like it in my previous mocks.
I thought 325 was enough for my program, but realized it wasn’t after consulting with people. I started studying for the GRE again in June to hit a target 330+. I finished the I’m Overwhelmed Plan, scored minimum >85% in all the tick box quizzes, scored 87% in the Quant Medium Timed Quizzes, 88% in the Verbal Medium Timed Quizzes, etc. I scored 338 (168V, 170Q) in PP1 and 329 (165V, 164Q) in PP2. I was hopeful I was doing better than before, especially since I scored my 325 with minimal prep.
But in my Jul 2025 GRE take, I only scored a 320 (161V, 159Q)-- which was my pre-GRE prep score back in early Nov 2024 :(!!! I panicked during the Quant section and ran out of time for most of the 2nd Section, which should explain the score.
I went back to the drawing board and prepped the whole Jul. I did more harder practice, finished all the ETS books and practice tests, and started using the GRE Big Book for verbal. But after almost 20 days of Jul prep, I did a Princeton Mock and got a 312 (150Q, 162V). I panicked during the Quant section again so I ran out of time.
PLEASE HELP!!! How do I stop panicking? I know I have studied hard and I can honestly say I know the concepts and prepared more this time than in 2024. It’s just not reflecting in performance ![]()
