How are vocab words chosen?

Hey everyone,

How does GregMAT (or like how I like to say… GREgmat) determine the words in each vocabulary set?

I am loving the sets right now but am wondering if I should also be memorizing the “100 most used GRE words” list I found on google. I do see on the vocab section of GREgmat, 3 different categories of lists. Are the vocab sets a mix of all three?

I think gregmat vocab list the 840 word one is derived from official ETS material as per my knowledge and as for the word group in that list as far as I know they are random words from official material in a set of 30 I think
