New to GregMat and I recently started the 2 month study plan, and I’m super excited to start prepping for this exam. I was curious to know how to determine which word I need to analyze. I always choose a word but when Mat starts his analysis he has a different word. What am I doing wrong here?
Support and contrast words are generally connectors / conjunctions. They are never nouns or verbs. Remember that while choosing support or contrast words we need to find two or more distinct ideas and the relation between them. So, essentially we need to find words connecting two different ideas in the sentences. These words are like - “although” , “but”, “however” in case of contrast and “because”, “and” etc. in case of support.
Sometimes, semicolons or commas are also used to indicate support, in which case you need not analyse a particular word.
