How is 'represents' a supporting word?

The support / contrast list doesn’t contain the word ‘represents’
Can anyone please help me

“Represent” works like “is” or “is a good example of”. From Gregmat’s spreadsheet of support/contrast words, “is” is a support word. “Like” or “such as”, which is pretty close in meaning to “is a good example of”, are also support words.
