How to improve performance after timed practices

Hey there, everyone.
I’ve done some timed practice tests from the 5 pounds book for quants and although I’ve practiced a bunch of questions from three chapters, I find myself running out of time, especially when I set 1 minute for one question. So, if the chapter has about 60 questions, I’d set the timer to 60 minutes and not 65 minutes(ideally like how the GRE has 30 questions for 35 minutes) because I want to get used to having 5 minutes at the end to check my questions later.

I would really use some advice on that and also, when I’m done correcting those questions, I feel like I wanna test myself more because again, if there were 60 questions, I end up getting only around 45-48 of them right, and at the same time, I want to move on to practicing other chapters too, cause I’m on the two month schedule and want to complete things on time.

I value the quality and quantity of the questions I attempt and I believe I must be confident about each chapter but at the same time, I also want to keep up with the schedule.
I’d be grateful to anyone that gives me some valuable advice on that too.

Thanks in advance!

  • Skip questions while practicing
  • QC takes more time than PS question because you’ve to check for edge cases too , so try to do them after PS in most-cases
  • Use calculator, so you don’t have to question your calculations
  • Do 30 sets in 30 mins rather than 60ques for timed practice as it’s much closer to what you have to do in real test !
  • Review your work thoroughly and maintain an error log → Most important part
