HW session 3 first problem

“Given their conviction that they’d rather blank prejudice than tolerate justice, the leaders have recently blank reforms that emphasize impartiality”

Guys seriously please how is the first blank a negative? and then why doesn’t he start with “given” which is a support word a positive, but picks “than” as his first word which is negative and also uses prejudice as another negative, so shouldn’t it be a positive.

Really frustrated watching the videos, then people in the video you can tell don’t understand it either, and just say “ohhh I get now” or “I see now” after asking the same thing I did!

“given” which is a support word a positive,

What does this mean? Support words don’t have connotations right? There’s a contrast at “rather than”

______ prejudice [ rather than (-)] tolerate justice

So you should use the contrast to fill the first blank. Now that the LHS is complete, you can use the comma and given as a support:

they’d rather ____ prejudice [Given that (=) ] the leaders _____ reforms that emphasize impartiality.
