(I'm Overwhelmed) Algebra Progress Quiz #6, Q18

In Question #18 on Algebra Progress Quiz #6, the solutions video shows Day 6-8 as having 6 people for 3 days. However, my understanding is the # of days should be 2, instead of 3, during Day 6-7. I’m thinking this because on the 8th day +1 person joined, making the # of people on Day 8 = 7.
I am aligned with the explanation for Day 1-5 because of the clarification in the problem “after day 5”. My confusion comes in with Day 6-8, as according to the video this would be 3 days of 6 people. However, in the problem it states on the 8th day 1 person joined, so I am thinking it should be Day 6-7 is w=12r (instead of 18r). Then a third column with Day 8 where 18r = (6+1) r _ → for a final result of approx. 2.57 days.
Please let me know your thoughts, would love to learn the best way to interpret these types of word problems. Thank you!

@Leaderboard what do you think about this?

For me I would (and I did) interpret this as Day 6, Day 7 and Day 8

It’s at the end of the 8th day, though?

In the question, it says “One more person arrives on the 8th day”. It didn’t say at the end of the 8th day. That’s why I also thought the number of days should be two not three because on the 8th day, if someone new joins, they also will be drinking water.

See the question itself - it is slightly, but crucially, different from the question presented in the video solution.
