I’ve seen that there are a couple of questions posted regarding this problem, but I am still having trouble understanding this question.
The first question is, why is it that POQ is 45 degrees if, based on the diagram, it is one of the angles in the triangle that is created by dividing the octagon into 8 equilateral triangles? Shouldn’t it then be equal to 60 degrees? I understand where we got 45 degrees from, but I’m still a little confused. Sorry if that question doesn’t make much sense.
The second question, which was addressed in a different post on this forum, is where do we get a difference of 30 degrees from? I know the question addresses why the difference cannot be 15 but where does 30 come from?
