Managing GRE Burnout: 17 days before the test

Hey All, I wanted to get on here and see if anyone has tips about managing burnout and fatigue regarding testing. At the moment, I’m sitting 17 days out from exam day, and I’ve been studying 5-7 days a week, 40-60 hours per week. I’m at the point now where I’m exhausted from prep, but I still feel “behind” and need to keep pushing to succeed. What would y’all recommend in my situation? Does anyone have any tips or advice?

Hey there! First of all, massive respect for your dedication. Studying 40–60 hours a week is no small feat. But burnout is real, and the fact that you’re noticing it now is a great sign actually.

  1. Focus on Quality Over Quantity: Prioritize weak spots and review mistakes the next day instead of going heaps of questions.
  2. Rest and Well-being: Are you blocking in time to sleep and exercise? Protect your sleep and your exercise time. Your body keeps score. In fact, that is literally a title of a book.
  3. Are you practising with intention? Are you aware what are your gaps or mindlessly doing questions? This is not meant to pinpoint but I too fall short of that self-awareness sometimes. Hope this helps!
