Math Stratergy doubt

Any language is a conspiracy against experience in the sense it is a collective attempt to _____ experience by reducing it into discrete parcels.

a. Extrapolate b. transcribe c. complicate d. amplify e. manage

i was going through the old gre test walk throughs of 2 month plan and greg solved the above question using the math strategy by taking (by) as the dividing word but i took that as dividing and reached the option c complicated where as greg choose manage could someone help me with the reasoning behind ignoring that as division word?

as “by” is acting as support
and “reducing it into discrete parcels” means i think making it easier
think as if you are solving a maths problem, and you reduce the problem into steps.
so you are making it easier.

so “A” is Oppposing, “B” No Evidence, “C” is Opposing, “D” is No Evidence

so E is an anwser.

Please do correct me incase i am wrong.

Any language is a conspiracy against experience in the sense that it is a collective attempt to _____ experience by reducing it into discrete parcels.

lets say we choose that as our dividing word to the left it says conspiracy against experience which is a -ve so the blank should be -ve, but if we choose by as our dividing word to the right is reduce into discrete parcels which is a +ve so the blank should be +ve shouldn’t both paths lead me to the same connotation of option where am I going wrong?

Any language is a conspiracy against experience in the sense that it is a collective attempt to _____ experience by reducing it into discrete parcels.

I think at first “against” is acting as a contrast, so before against till conspiracy the idea is -ve, so after against the should be +ve and “that” is acting as a support so after “that” the idea is +ve.

Correct me if I am wrong

Yeh this makes sense could you pls help me with 2 more things

  1. How did you identify against as a diving word( it isn’t present in support/ contrast list)
  2. What are the ideas to the the dividing word against and that and also how do I choose the correct dividing word

cool!
Anwser 1 :- As greg have told in his many video’s that the list is not comprehensive, though the list do cover majority of words,phrases and punctuations. The way i identify against is, greg have told that in most of the cases the question will provide you 2 clues or 2 ways through which you can confirm that you are on a right path. So as your question was totally valid, i came across against and did learn the working of against through google, got to know that against is used as a contrast many a times.

Anwser 2 :- [Any language is a conspiracy] against [experience in the sense] that [it is a collective attempt to _____ experience] by [reducing it into discrete parcels.]

against = -ve
that = +ve
by = +ve

so the 2 ways to solve this question is either through against or thorugh by.

how do I choose the correct dividing word :- just follow the Greg List and try dividing the ideas, try to solve the questions through only strategies.
