In the question attached below, i do understand the support logic, but i dont understand the soundness of the completed text. If it’s a cherished conviction, why would one be revolted or disgusted (repugnant to) by studying it? Or should we just ignore the soundness of the completed sentence?
The question is not saying/asking whether we cherish our convictions or not. Like you said, it is clear, we cherish them, that is why the prompt says “cherished convictions”.
What the question actually says is, “we do not STUDY our cherished convictions.”
Because “indeed” is an intensifier, we need an intense form of “we do not study”, and that is, “we hate STUDYING our cherished convictions”
