Pairing (SE) Skill Building - Yield & Dispense

Hi,
I’m confused about the distinction between “yield” and “dispense.” Both seem to mean “produce” or “give out,” so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t be considered synonyms.

I understand that “yield” can also mean “surrender” (which is why it pairs with “capitulate”), but in contexts where “yield” means “produce,” how is it different from “dispense”?

Thanks!

Are those actually the same though? To give something out doesn’t mean you made it.
