PowerPrep 3 Q5 (Spoiler)

I got this answer by choosing numbers, where I said one side of the square equals 10. So I found the area of the square = 100, and subtracted half of the area of the parallelogram to get the answer. This gave me 25/100, which is equal to 1/4. Is this the right approach? The explanation from ETS is much different.

Yeah choosing numbers makes this problem a lot easier honestly

Choosing numbers like you did is just a scaling factor, so the ratio of anything is still preserved.
