PrepSwift Quant Tickbox Quiz #2 (Arithmetic Column 2)

Hello! I’m really confused how Greg approached this problem.

The question:
x/y =3.625, where x and y are positive integers. What could be the remainder of x/y?
Select all that apply.

To approach this problem, Greg converts the decimal to a mixed number. But, he does this by putting 625 over 1000 (625/1000), instead of 999. This confused me, because in the prep swift lectures he says to put decimals with three digits over 999. Where does the 1000 come from? Is it something special about the question?

The answer to this question is 15 and 25

0.625 = \frac{625}{1000}

Oh I see, we don’t put it over 999 because it’s not a repeating decimal. Thank you!
