Probability Concept Formula Doubt

When do we use the formula “A x B” v/s "A x B - AB " ?

Super Confused.

  • P(A \cap B) = P(A) \times P(B) if A and B are independent.
  • P(A \cup B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A \cap B) in general

where P(A) represents the probability of event A occuring.

Can I please get 2 examples ?

Try working through the quizzes of “A AND B (Independent)” and “A OR B (Independent)” on PrepSwift as a first step.
