I understood the method used by Greg but in the question it is given that a>0 so I assumed a=1. If a=1 then p and q can be anything so if p and q can be anything the answer should be D not A.
Assume two cases:
1)a=1 p=100 q=100 r=2 s=2. In this Left hand side=1+1/1=2 and right side=2
2)a=1 p=1 q=1 r=2 s=2. In this case as well left side equals right side
Sorry, it was my mistake. There is a bug - a > 1 should be specified.
Upon further investigation, it turns out that the format of the question was the problem - that is, it’s faulty as it stands.
