Hi I don’t think this is a GRE question. You shouldn’t have to complete the square to get an answer, that is outside the scope of the test
Nope, completing the square isn’t outside the scope of the test. Similarly, the equation of a circle is also not outside the scope of the test. Moreover, that’s a very standard question on this topic, so it doesn’t really demand a novel approach.
