This question is regarding the Three Ringing Bells Exercise in column 2.
The question: A train company runs 2 trains every 60 minutes to London Victoria and 4 trains every 60 minutes to London Charing Cross from Orpingdon railway station (in southeast London), both at equally spaced intervals. Assuming there are no disruptions and that it takes no time for passengers to board and depart each train, which of the following is true?
The solution is confusing to me, and I’m wondering if there’s an error.
In the second case of the trains starting to run at 8:05, the trains running to VIC would be at 8:05, 8:35, 9:05, and so on. Which is 30 mins from 8:05. Should the trains running from CX not be 8:20, 8:35, etc, rather than 8:15, 8:30? 8:20 would be the time 15 minutes after 8:05, so I’m confused why the solution states 8:15.
