In the above screenshot, it was concluded that the answer was A. But shouldn’t it actually be D.

As square roots of positive numbers can be either + / - . It was mentioned that gre doesn’t take it as negative usually -

but isn’t that still mathematically wrong?

I just cannot seem to wrap my head around this ?
