RC- short passage comprehension

I always found this passage difficult in terms of answering the questions even after attempting multiple times.
Can anyone help me in understanding the following?

  1. Is “rock music “ and “popular music” the same thing?
  2. Which line or phrase in the passage indicates that the musical styles are “apparently disparate”?
  3. Also what I understood from the last line-
PG’s music is amended in a way that it incorporates popular elements to classical music and the classical music has been created as a high art for rock listeners.
    Is the comprehension okay?
  1. yes, we can tell rock is a type of popular music since the 2nd sentence is elaborating on the discussion of Glass’s use of popular music in the 1st sentence.
  2. What do you think, and why?
  3. yes
  1. I think it’s the last sentence because it shows 2 ways of presenting the music to rock and classical listeners
but I’m confused with the word “apparently” because in line 6 it also says, “which from its early days shared certain harmonies and rhythms”

I’m also confused since you’re paraphrasing the question - can you post the real wording?

The last line the passage indicates that the musical styles are “apparently disparate” in my view

I don’t know what the question is asking - can you post it? It’s hard to precisely discuss a question without seeing the exact wording.

this is the question

I think the 2nd to last sentence justifies choice C “…from its early days” = longstanding.

Also rock and classical are the two disparate styles.
