I’m a bit confused here in remainders part deux.

I get this what’s written as Note. But I had a confusion, what if we say both x and y are negative and integer. Can I factorize them?

(-x)/(-y) = x/y ??

As for 3/6 remainder is going to be 3, of the original fraction, you cannot factorize it as ½ and say the remainder is 1.

So, can we write the note as, considering x/y, where x and y are both POSITIVE & INTEGERS and y>x, the remainder is simply x?

x cannot be negative so no.
