Rounding numbers

I am still confused about this instance:
If the answer comes out to be 2.449. Would rounding it to the nearest 0.1 give 2.5 or 2.4?
(A) 2.5 if we start from 9, we can round 2.449 to 2.45 and then 2.45 to 2.5
(B) 2.4 if we do not consider the last 9 and just round it from 2.44.

Not sure if we will get such questions, but I would be grateful if anyone can help!

It will give you 2.4
Rounding off to nearest tenths place simply means a the tenths that is nearest to it
2.449 - 2.4 = 0.049
2.5 - 2.449 = 0.051

You never round off a number to a different decimal value and then used that to round off again
2.45 is rounded off 2.5 not 2.449
Basically you don’t round off in steps

If there is a 5 to the right of the decimal then do we always round it off to the next number?

Ex: 2.345 = 2.35

Is it correct?
