Session 8B Bigbook question pg 536 Even those who...controvertial

Could someone please help me identify why the pharse

'Rarely Faulted her for expressing them," not neutral

i personally filled up the blank as
“fathomable” since ‘rarely faulted for expressing them’ would mean it is possible for the to occur to people

and in that case

Commonplace appears to be a better fit, as ,in my opinion,
rarely faulted her for expressing a fathomable thought = neutral which matches with commonplace.

Karan

If they were commonplace, how could it be controversial?

Even if her views were controversial, they were thoughtful, so people respected her and didn’t fault her for expressing them.

cant commonplace thoughts could also be controversial ?
