So, I am doing practice questions that are given for the homework, and when I am done, I don’t know whether to solve the quant section from the 5lb book or I should solve the 5lb book.
Which one do you think will help me get a better score in quant?
I have been using a combo. I’m no expert, but based on how Greg has used it in his study plans and lessons, I feel as if the 5lbs is good for building your skills and general practice and the big book may be better for gauging your skill with real GRE problems once you’ve built those foundations. So, I would recommend using the big book as a “final layer” of practice, or use them in combination in some other way.
From my experience, go through the full quant concept series (https://new.gregmat.com/course/gre-quant-concept-series) before solving anything. I learned this the hard way, because when you are solving, you tend to focus on whether your answer is correct or wrong. But when you go through the quant concept series, you will build a strong foundation, so that once you start solving, you will instantly get an idea on where the trick might be.
I am actually following the dedicated quant series. Greg explained topics in great details over there. Have you watched those series or are you short on time?
