Struggling with using support/contras math logic

I am just having a hard time understanding the support and contrast/ math logic for the verbal. Even after memorizing the list for support and contrast words/phrases I just can’t seem to wrap my head around it. Does anyone have any helpful tricks for this?

Hey, support/contrast does take a little getting used to and conscious effort at first. Such was the case for me.

Are you having trouble with identifying logic words/phrases itself, and/or reaching a certain conclusion whether it indicates a support/contrast?

Apart from diligently going through Greg’s TC/SE 2024 or 2024(ETS) series, I would recommend watching the miscellaneous video on “The Piece Method”. This might help with slow and detailed understanding of idea chunks, whether positive/negative as well as impact of logic words. It also helps understand that there might be more than one logic word present in the sentence and we need to identify which one affects our purpose of filling the blank. Hope this helps!

Hey thanks for the tip, I am having trouble with weather a conclusion indicated support/contrast.

Knowing whether a logic word is supporting/contrasting is probably a matter of gradual practice corroborated by memorising the pretty exhaustive logic words sheet which can be found linked below the initial 2024 TC strategy videos.

You may also consider bettering this by working on the Support/Contrast Skill Building tool available on the website.
