Test 7 Section 1 Question 5

My approach:
I broke the sentence into pieces:

  1. In … physics
  2. the human … _____
  3. since … reasoning
  4. the very … possible

For B2:
From idea 3, we have “mechanical nature … of … does not ______ creative reasoning”
I don’t know the connotation, probably neutral, but from semantics, i guessed “allow” as in does not allow creative reasoning

For B1:
I saw that there is machine like world and human intellect which hinted at block of four. From this, i chose the set up for block of four as

machine like world → does not allow creative reasoning
human intellect → _________
From the above set up I guessed “allows creative reasoning”

So using this, I chose the answer as B, but the answer is in fact A.
I can see that my reasoning for B2 seems correct, but where did I go wrong with B1?

Based on your reasoning I thought you would have picked A

Your reasoning and the option you picked do not align

Abstract and Speak to mean different things from the words you used when describing your thought process

Allow - allow for

Machine like world does not allow for creative reasoning

So creative reasoning is not present in a machine like world

Hence is presence would be out of the ordinary

B1 - out of the ordinary
B2 - allow

Answer A

Oh right yeah, for B2, i guess i was blinded when picking the options.

I missed “machine like world” while guessing B1.
