Throughout the year, a graduate professor wants her students to work in as many distinct groups of a consistent size as possible. If she has a total of 8 8 students, how many students should she place in each group?

I watched the solution video by Greg and I do not understand why do we need to apply permutations and combinations to this question.

The solution is obviously going to be 4 since we want groups of equal size and 2 is not an option. It is just 8/2 since there can be only 2 groups of 4 to have groups of equal size.

Could anyone help me here

Hint: “as many distinct groups”.
