You’d need to know that the function is increasing in that interval to surmise f(12) < f(20) < f(24)

Well it looked like you picked a random triple of numbers, so in general to see increasing inputs → increasing output, you’d require an increasing function
The actual question is ill-posed because f(20) is not constrained by f(4), so f(20) can’t be uniquely determined.
